A scriptorium stacked with manuscripts, loose pages hanging in the air

BUILT IN DRAFTS

The story of the house. Est. 2021.

THE QUIET YEARS

Tenth Draft began in 2021, in the quietest year most of us can remember. A small circle of writers, scattered across cities and time zones, started trading manuscripts the way people once traded letters: slowly, seriously, and with no intention of showing anyone else.

The world had gone still. The stories had not.

THE RULE OF TEN

The circle kept one rule, and it was not negotiable. Nothing left the circle before its tenth draft. Not because ten is a magic number, but because somewhere around the tenth pass a story stops belonging to its writer and starts belonging to its readers.

The rule outlived the quiet years. Eventually it needed a name, and then a spine to print it on.

THE LONG WAY HERE

For years the house grew the way its books do: privately, draft by draft. No launches, no announcements. The catalogue came before the website, and the worlds came before the catalogue.

That is why every title you will find here is marked TBP, to be published. Nothing leaves this house early. It never has.

THE MISSION

To publish fantasy and fiction that earns its cover. And to hold every title, and every writer, to the tenth draft.

The doors are open now. Readers on the list walk in first.
